Ground Turkey Chili

  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 1 Jalapeño diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 TBSP of garlic
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 can San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can black beans drained
  • 1 can kidney beans drained
  • 1/2 cup tomato juice
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • olive oil
  • Fergolicous luv rub (this is a salt, pepper, garlic mixture)
  • Meat Church Texas chili seasoning
  • (optional) 1/4 cup tabasco/your favorite hot sauce (you can add at the end)
    • In large pot, I prefer a Dutch Oven sweat down the onion, bell pepper, and jalapeño with a TBSP of olive oil and TBSP of the Luv rub
    • When veggies are where you like them and garlic, it will take about 30 seconds for it to cook.
    • Add your 2 lbs of ground turkey to pot with sweated down veggies, and brown. You may need to add a bit of olive oil to turkey.
    • When turkey is browned, add your canned ingredients.
    • Add Meat Church Texas chili seasoning. Package recommends 4 Tsp per pound of meat.
    • Add the 1 cup of beef broth and 1/2 cup of tomato juice and incorporate everything.
    • Bring to boil and then reduce heat to a simmer.
    • Let simmer stirring occasionally for at least 30 minutes. You might need to add liquid if you let simmer longer. Use either tomato juice or beef stock depending on your preference.
    • Set out your favorite fixings and serve.
